  • 10/2011: Numerous simplifications of the listing search interface were made and a complete redesign is in progress.
  • 9/2011: Hosting was moved to new hardware and software for improvements to cost, security, backup and performance.
  • 8/2011: Map search was upgraded to latest version of Google Maps and enhanced.
  • 4/16/2011: Added Robots.txt features to all sites to prevent search engines from visiting pages without unique content.
  • 4/10/2011: Moved to subversion version control for all projects.
  • 3/17/2011: Tinymce was not working on Internet Explorer 9, I upgraded Tinymce to 3.4.x on all sites.
  • 3/16/2011: Added support for editing pages that are using @font-face custom web fonts from typekit.com, google web fonts and others.

The following changes were made between November 8th, 2010 and February 19th, 2011.

All these amazing new features were provided for free. Some of them are for specific industries only, such as real estate or rentals, which may not apply to all web sites. This means your web site may only have the features relevant to your business.

  • I routinely fix bugs and make performance enhancements.
  • I moved the source code for the real estate search form to an external javascript file to reduce the amount of redundant script in landing pages and to speed up performance.
  • Added the ability to have a "quick search" layout for the real estate sites as first used on South Florida Real Estate.
  • Setup demo web site with all features for prospects and other design firms to test out my system prior to purchase.
  • Revised spacing and color scheme of real estate listings to be cleaner and more consistent looking for all clients.
  • Began work on the automated lead routing system - 80% complete.
  • For real estate listings, images now enlarge immediately when you roll over the thumbnail images for faster viewing. For the Daytona Beach MLS, I added the new high resolution photos they now provide.
  • I determined that Google Geocoding (Translating a street address to latitude/longitude coordinates) was very inaccurate and I reviewed all map data providers and found Bing Maps to offer the best combination of accuracy and features. We'll be launching a new map search based on Bing Maps in the future.
  • Begin work on an HTML version of the slideshow feature for easier design customization and Apple mobile device compatibility.
  • Revised entire front end to be XHTML 1.0 transitional valid syntax and began revising existing sites so they validate on w3c validator.
  • Launched Search Engine Keyword Inquiry Search which lets you see what people are looking for most commonly before they contact you.
  • Launched ability to export lead search results for agents or brokers based.
  • Reorganized backend menus and renamed system features to be more user friendly.
  • Built an HTML/XHTML Parsing script so that I could begin on the skinning engine and enforce code that validates.
  • Build a secure message system for allowing clients to upload large files/messages via a secure SSL connection.
  • Launched automated billing system for my clients with email notification, paypal subscriptions & IPN notifications and secure online payment history.
  • Setup Apache Solr Database Software to begin testing enterprise search features for a major search upgrade in the near future.
  • FTP access to source code was disabled and SFTP has been installed to secure access to the source code.
  • Server security was enhanced to eliminate all unnecessary third party access and backup process was made redundant on RAID 1 configuration.
  • Windows OS was tweaked to allow more ports and to close connections faster. Persistent connections to MySQL were enabled to reduce number of ports used. Server became more stable after this.
  • A new image library editor with drag and drop resizing, editable captions for SEO and a flash script to enable multiple uploads, also has zip support and original images are now preserved for future resizing.
  • Rental application with categories, calendars was added.
  • Ability to add RAW HTML to pages was made easier.
  • MySQL tables were converted from MyISAM to Innodb for performance and reliability. Innodb tables were configured to use 5 gigabytes of ram for performance.
  • Upgraded database from MySQL 5.1.48 to MySQL 5.5.8
